DIRECTIONS

NOTE: Please refer to the PDF for instructional diagrams.

1.  To get started, string six 6mm green beads onto one end of the nylon filament.  Circle the beads around and tie a secure double knot.  The rest of the turtle will be strung around this ring of beads.

2.  Add 3 green beads, one 4mm root beer bead and one green bead.  Bring the string through beads 1 and 2 of the ring as indicated on the diagram.

3.  Add one green bead, one root beer bead and two more green beads.  Bring the string through bead 1 of the last loop and beads 2 and 3 of the ring.

4.  Add three green beads.  Bring string through bead 1 of the last loop and beads 2 and 3 of the ring.

5.  Add three green beads.  Bring string through bead 1 of the last loop and beads 2 and 3 of the last ring.

6.  Add three green beads.  Bring string through bead 1 of the last loop, beads 2 and 3 of the ring and bead 4 of the first loop.

7.  Add two green beads.  Bring string through bead 1 of the adjacent loop.  this completes the turtle shell.

8.  To make the turtle's tail, add three 4mm sun gold beads.  Skip over the last bead and bring string back through 4mm sun gold bead 1.

9.  Add one more 4mm sun gold bead.  Bring the string through green bead 1 of the shell.

10.  Make one leg with one 4mm root beer bead and three 6mm sun gold beads.  Bring string through green bead 1 and root beer bead 2 of the shell.

11.  Add the next leg with three 6mm sun gold beads.  Bring string through green beads 1 and 2 of the shell.

12.  Begin the head of the turtle with one 4mm sun gold bead, one 6mm sun gold bead and a 4mm sun gold bead.  Bring string through green beads 1 and 2 of the shell, then back through the 4mm sun gold bead 3 of the head.

13.  Add three more 4mm sun gold beads.  Bring string through the 6mm sun gold bead 1 of the last loop and then back through sun gold bead 2 of the new loop.

14.  Add one 4mm sun gold bead, one black seed bead for an eye, one 4mm sun gold bead, one black seed bead for the other eye and one more 4mm sun gold bead.  Bring the string through the sun gold beads 1 and 2 of the head and green beads 3 and 4 of the shell.

15.  Add three 6mm sun gold beads for a leg.  Bring string through the root beer bead 1 and green bead 2 of the shell.

16.  Add three 6mm sun gold beads and one 4mm root beer bead for the last leg.  Bring string through green bead 1 of the shell.  Pull string through to complete the turtle.  Tie a secure double knot and cut off the excess string.  Slip on a lanyard hook to attach.
