DIRECTIONS

NOTE: Please refer to PDF for instructional diagrams.

DIRECTIONS:
NOTE: You will be working with one length of nylon filament string.  The beading will start in the middle of the string and the 2 loose ends will be separated and referred to as the A string and B string.  Generally, after each step, the A and B strings will be coming out from opposite ends of the same bead.

1. String 4 beads onto the nylon filament.  Take string A and cross through the last bead.  Strings A & B will be coming out from opposite ends of the bead, forming circle #1.  Add 2 beads to string A.  Add 1 bead to string B.  Take string B and cross through the last bead on string A.  This forms circle #2.

2. Take string B and add 2 beads.  Add 1 bead to string A.  Take string A and cross through the last bead on string B.  This forms circle #3.

3. Add 2 beads to string A.  Add 1 bead to string B.  Take string B and cross through the last bead on string A.  This forms circle #4.

4. Add 1 bead to string A.  Add 1 bead to string B.  Take string A and cross through the second bead in the first circle.  Take string B and cross through the second bead in the first circle.

5. The two ends of the row of beads will join together, forming a beaded tube.  Your design is now becoming dimensional.  Refer to the diagram above the following steps.  You will be working with beads labeled as 11-55 on the beaded tube.  (Note: the bead labeled as 11 is the second bead of circle #1).

6. With strings A & B coming out from opposite ends of bead 11, add 3 beads to string B.  Take string A and add 2 beads then cross through the last bead on string B.  Add 2 beads to string A and add 2 beads to string B.

7. Take string A and cross through bead 22 on the beaded tube.  Take string B and cross through bead 22 on beaded tube.  The beaded row is now joined to the beaded tube, forming the first star point.  Take string B and add 3 beads.

8. Add 2 beads to string A and cross through the last bead on string B.  Add 2 beads to string A and add 2 beads to string B.  Take string A and cross through bead 33 on the tube.  Take string B and cross through bead 33 on the tube.

9. The beaded row is now joined to the beaded tube to form star point #2.  Take string B and add 3 beads.  Add 2 beads to string A and cross through the last bead on string B.

10. Add 2 beads to string A and 2 beads to string B.  Take string A and cross through bead 44 on the tube.  Take string B and cross through bead 44 on the tube.  The beaded row is now joined to the tube to form the third star point.

11. Take string B and add 3 beads.  Add 2 beads to string A and cross through the last bead on string B.  Add 2 beads to string A and add 2 beads to string B.

12. Take string A and cross through bead 55 on the tube.  Take string B and cross through bead 55 on the tube.  The beaded row is now joined to the tube to form the fourth star point.  Add 3 beads to string B.

13.  Add 2 beads to string A and cross through the last bead on string B.  Add 2 beads to string A and add 2 beads to string B.  Take string A and cross through bead 11 on the tube.  Take string B and cross through bead 11 on the tube.

14. The beaded row is now joined to the tube forming the fifth and last star point.

15. Finishing: Knot strings A & B together securely.  String 20 seed beads onto string A.  Take string B and cross through all 20 seed beads.  Knot strings A & B securely.  Slip the loose string ends into a few more beads and cut off the excess string to hide ends.  Hang from seed bead loop as is or attach a lanyard hook.
