MATERIALS

16 qty. 4 mm. yellow bicones
37 qty. 4 mm. white bicones
10 qty. 4 mm. red bicones
1 qty. 6 mm. red facet
1 qty. 6 mm. clear facet
1 qty. 3 mm. green bicone
2 in. headpin
1-1/2 yd. 8 lb. monofilament

CAKE SLICE INSTRUCTIONS:
To follow the diagrams, color one end of the monofilament red and the other end black.  When it is time to cross, take the opposite line and insert it through the last bead added on the opposite line making sure the lines are going in opposite directions of each other.

*CAKE BOTTOM:
1. Black: add 6 yellow beads.  Red: cross through at least 2 beads.
2. Black: add 4 yellow beads.  Red: cross through the last yellow bead.
3. Red: add 2 yellow beads.  Black: cross through the last yellow bead.
4. Black: add 3 yellow beads.  Red: cross through last yellow bead.
5. Black: go in through 1 yellow bead (form circle 1).
    Red: add 1 yellow bead.  Black: cross through the yellow bead.

*CAKE SIDES:
1. Black: add 3 beads (white, red, white).
    Red: cross through the last white bead.
2. Black: go in through 1 yellow bead.  Red: add 2 beads (red, white). 
    Black: cross through the last white bead.
3. Red: go in through 1 yellow bead.  Black: add 2 beads (red, white).
    Red: cross through the last white bead.
4. Black: go in through 1 yellow bead.  Red: add 2 beads (red, white). 
    Black: cross through the last white bead.
5. Red: go in through 1 yellow bead.  Black: add 2 beads (red, white).
    Red: cross through the last white bead.
6. Black: go in through 1 yellow bead.  Red: add 2 beads (red, white). 
    Black: cross through the last white bead.
7. Red: go in through 1 yellow bead.  Black: add 2 beads (red, white).
    Red: cross through the last white bead.
8. Black: go in through 1 yellow bead.  Red: add 2 beads (red, white). 
    Black: cross through the last white bead.
9. Red: go in through 1 yellow bead.  Black: add 2 beads (red, white).
    Red: cross through the last white bead.
10. Black: go in through 2 beads (yellow, white).  Red: add 1 red bead. 
      Black: cross through the red bead.
11. Black: add 3 white beads.  Red: cross through the last white bead.
12. Black: go in through 1 red bead.  Red: add 2 white beads.
      Black: cross through the last white bead.
13. Red: go in through 1 red bead.  Black: add 2 white beads.
      Red: cross through the last white bead.
14. Black: go in through 1 red bead.  Red: add 2 white beads.
      Black: cross through the last white bead.
15. Red: go in through 1 red bead.  Black: add 2 white beads.
      Red: cross through the last white bead.
16. Black: go in through 1 red bead.  Red: add 2 white beads.
      Black: cross through the last white bead.
17. Red: go in through 1 red bead.  Black: add 2 white beads.
      Red: cross through the last white bead.
18. Black: go in through 1 red bead.  Red: add 2 white beads.
      Black: cross through the last white bead.
19. Red: go in through 1 red bead.  Black: add 2 white beads.
      Black: cross through the last white bead.
20. Black: go in through 2 beads (red, white).  Red: add 1 white bead.   
      Black: cross through the last white bead.

*TOP OF THE CAKE:
1. Black: go in through 1 white bead.  Add 1 white bead.
    Red: cross through the white bead.
2. Red: go in through 1 white bead.
    Black: go in through 1 white bead then add 2 white beads.
    Red: cross through the last white bead.
3. Black: go in through 1 white bead then add 2 white beads.
    Red: cross through the last white bead.
4. Black: go in through 2 white beads then add 1 white bead.
    Red: cross through the white bead.
5. Red: go in through 2 white beads then add 1 white bead.
    Black: cross through the white bead.

String on the clear facet bead onto the headpin then insert the headpin with the clear bead inside of the cake making sure the headpin comes out of the middle of the white bicones on top of the cake (*see Fig. A of cake top diagram).  Tie both ends of the monofilament into a knot then rethread the remaining ends of the monofilament through all the beads so the cake slice is more secure and firmer.  When it feels firm enough, cut off the remaining ends of the monofilament.  String on the red facet bead and the 3 mm. green bicone onto the headpin then wirewrap the headpin.
