DIRECTIONS:
NOTE: You will be working with one length of nylon filament string. The beading will start in the middle of the string and the 2 loose ends will be separated and referred to as the A string and B string. Generally, after each step, the A and B strings will be coming out from opposite ends of the same bead.
1. To begin, string 5 beads to the middle of the nylon filament string. Take the A end of the string and cross the thread through the last bead, creating a circle of beads. The A and B ends of the string should be coming out at the opposite ends of that bead.
2. Add 4 beads onto the A string. Take the B string and cross through the last bead that was strung. This creates another closed circle.
3. Add 3 beads onto the B string. Take the A string and cross through the first bead in the first circle then through the last bead on the B string. This creates another closed circle.
4. Add 3 beads to the A string. Take the B string and cross through the second bead in the first circle then through the last bead on the A string. This creates another closed circle.
5. Add 3 beads to the B string. Take the A string and cross through the third bead in the first circle then through the last bead on the B string. This creates another closed circle. By now, the ball is starting to take a more 3-D shape.
6. Add 2 beads to the A string. Take the B string and cross through the fourth bead in the first circle, the first bead in the second circle then through the last bead on the A string. This creates another closed circle and completes half of the ball. (Note: the second circle is next to circle #6, which you just completed)
7. Add 3 beads to the B string. Take the A string and cross through the second bead in the second circle you made. Then string through the last bead on the B string, creating another closed circle.
8. Add 2 beads to the A string. Take the B string and cross through 2 beads, one from the second circle and one from the third circle. Continue and go through the last bead on the A string creating another closed circle.
9. Add 2 beads to the B string. Take the A string and cross through 2 beads, one from the third circle and one from the fourth circle. Continue and go through the last bead on the B string. Slip the 10 mm. jingle bell in now.
10. Add 2 beads to the A string. Take the B string and cross through 2 beads, one from the fourth circle and one from the fifth circle. Continue and go through the last bead on the B string. Add jingle bell at this time.
11. Add 1 bead to the A string. Take the B string and go through 3 beads; one from the fifth circle, one from the sixth circle and one from the seventh circle on this second half of the ball. Continue and cross through the last bead on the A string. The ball with the bell inside is now completed.
12. Finishing: Slip B string through the 4 beads in circle 11, coming out on the fourth bead so that A & B strings meet. Tie strings together securely. String 20 seed beads onto A string. Take the B string and cross through all 20 seed beads. Knot A & B securely. Slip loose ends into a few more beads and cut off excess string to hide ends. Slip the lanyard hook onto the seed bead loop.
