About this event

***This workshop is best suited for Intermediate Level crochet students who have experience using and are comfortable with crocheting scrubby yarn. Students must already know how to read a basic crochet pattern with crochet abbreviations. Must recognize and be comfortable with these stitches - magic ring/magic circle (MR/MC),chain stitch (CH), slip stitch (SL ST), double crochet (DC), treble/triple crochet (TR) & back-loop only (BLO ). Stitches will not be taught in class, just quickly reviewed.***

Enjoy the bright beauty of the cherry blossom, or Japanese sakura blossom, in scrubby form! Offered in "studio" presentation (students can choose to progress at their own speed, with minimal direct instruction) using a clever pattern by Astri Elisabeth and the popular basic Filip brand Korean scrubby yarn, Malia will show you how to layer your three pink scrubby yarns to make a three-dimensional flower whose petals are raised off of the body of the scrubby. Pattern will be practiced together with small amounts of acrylic yarn first, then students will move on to working with scrubby yarn. You will leave class understanding how this scrubby project is completed, creating 2 blossom scrubby pieces whose edges are then single crocheted together.

***Must bring your own J-10 (6mm) OR K-10.5 (6.5mm) crochet hook - Available for purchase in store.***
